Overview

Day 1: Arrival in Phuentsholing & Transfer to Thimphu

Arrival at Phuentsholing (either by road from Bagdogra/Siliguri or by flight to Paro and then road transfer).
Processing of tourist permits at Phuentsholing.
Drive to Thimphu, the capital, with potential stops at Chukha Dam and on-road waterfalls.
Check into hotel in Thimphu.

Day 2: Exploring Thimphu

Visit the Memorial Chorten, Buddha Dordenma statue, and Simtokha Dzong.
Explore the Royal Takin Preserve and potentially the National Textile Museum or Folk Heritage Museum.

Day 3: Thimphu to Punakha

Drive to Punakha, crossing the scenic Dochula Pass.
Visit the 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens at Dochula Pass.
Hike to Chimi Lhakhang, the temple of fertility.
Explore Punakha Dzong, a stunning fortress at the confluence of two rivers.

Day 4: Punakha to Paro

Drive to Paro, potentially via Wangduephodrang.
Enjoy the scenic beauty of the Paro Valley.
Visit Paro Dzong (Rinpung Dzong).

Day 5: Hiking to Tiger's Nest Monastery

Hike to the iconic Taktsang (Tiger's Nest) Monastery, a highlight of any Bhutan trip.
Enjoy panoramic views of the valley and surrounding mountains.

Day 6: Paro Sightseeing

Visit the National Museum of Bhutan, housed in a former watchtower (Ta Dzong).
Explore Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan.
Optional activities: Visit a traditional Bhutanese farmhouse, explore local markets, or enjoy a traditional Bhutanese hot stone bath.

Day 7: Departure

Transfer to Paro International Airport for your departure flight.
